An English translation of Du Jeu des Tarots from Monde Primatif Volume 8 by Antoine Court De Gébelin. 

This passage is often quoted in texts about the history of Tarot even after much  of the information has been discredited. Du Jeu des Tarots et Recherches Sur les Tarots uncovers the sources that most likely contributed to the misconceptions that led to the  transformation of this simple card game a divination tool.

Antoine Court De Gébelin used an  TdM and le Comte de Mellet described a similar deck with Jupiter and Junon replacing the Pope and the Popess. I found the J Jerger deck, which the British Museum dates circa 1800

Although the J Jerger Deck is not the exact deck, it is a reproduction of an older deck by J.B. Benois of Strasbourg France.
